Megan has had over 18 years experience in the barley, malting & brewing industries, with Joe White Maltings and Lion, and most recently as Executive Manager for Barley Australia. Megan is also a Director on the Board of Management for the Institute of Brewing & Distilling and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Food Science &Technology.
Mark currently manages the barley and oats quality programs of the Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC). Mark's 15+ years' experience in the grains industry includes management of technical services for the The Grain Pool/CBH Group, leading growers' investments in wheat, canola and pulse breeding as CEO of the Council of Grain Grower Organisations.
Haydn, CEO of AGT, has more than 15 years of experience in the plant breeding sector. Haydn has been with Australian Grain Technologies Pty Ltd (AGT) since its establishment in 2002 acting as plant breeder, manager of R&D, consultant, University of Adelaide affiliate lecturer and post-graduate supervisor.
Paul has over 25 years in the malting industry with Barrett Burston Malting company and has held various production and technical positions during this time. In his current role, Paul has overall responsibility for Barrett Burston’s technical functions. Board Member since 2006
Simon currently holds the position of Regional Merchandising Manager with Boortmalt Australia. He brings to the board a wealth of experience in grain trading across a number of cereal commodities as well a background in business development, consultancy and brokerage.
Mark has over 20 years of brewing experience working with Carlton United Breweries and the Foster’s Group. He has had roles in quality assurance, R&D and production. Mark has PhD qualifications in brewing science, is a current member of the MBIBTC and was Chairman from 2006 to 2012.
Drew Robertson is currently the Barley Trading Manager for the CBH Group and is responsible for managing the Groups barley trade program. Drew has extensive experience over the past 15 years in the Australian grains industry from supply chain management to commodity trade and risk management.
Amanda has more than 25 years experience as a Plant Breeder. She was a Senior Breeder for the University of Adelaide Barley Program, and was a Senior Manager of the program for its last 2 years. Amanda has been responsible for several commercial releases in that time. Amanda has shared collaborations with Carlsberg, Malteurop, Sapporo Breweries and SECOBRA Recherches. In 2017 Amanda accepted an offer from French-based SECOBRA Recherches to establish their cereal breeding operations in Australia.
Tress Walmsley is the CEO of Intergrain, based in Perth, WA, which has a national focus on wheat and barley breeding. Tress comes to the Board with extensive experience on the management of one of Australia's largest breeding programmes of wheat and barleys
Trevor is a qualified brewer and has been in the brewing and malting industry for 25 years. He has held various production and management roles in the malting industry and was appointed as Managing Director at Malteurop Australia/New Zealand in 2002. Board Member since 2007.
Jeff joined the brewing industry in 1989 and has since worked in a variety of technical and operational positions. His current role covers raw material quality and specialist laboratory support for Lion’s breweries in Australia and New Zealand. He is also one of Lion’s representatives on the MBIBTC.
Luke has over 10 years’ experience in the Barley industry with roles covering logistics and trading. Luke’s current position is Barley Trader with GrainCorp, a role which he has held for the past 7 years.
